Frank A. Bolz III is an attorney and partner with the firm concentrating in the area of Estate administration and complex Estate litigation in the Surrogate’s Court and other trial and appellate courts throughout New York State.
His practice includes probate and intestate administration; representing both administrators and executors, will contests; defending the validity of a will or challenging the admission of a will to probate, discovery proceedings, recovering wrongfully transferred assets of the decedent, turnover proceedings, contested accountings, removal of fiduciaries, appointment of successor fiduciaries, wrongful death proceedings, constructive trusts, defending or setting aside lifetime trusts, kinship proceedings and commercial litigation related to estates.
Frank A. Bolz III was formerly a managing partner and lawyer at the firm of Crowley, Crowley & Bolz, a law firm in Queens County, before joining the law firm of Sweeney, Gallo, Reich & Bolz, LLP., formerly known as Manton, Sweeney, Gallo, Reich & Bolz here in Queens County. Mr. Bolz devotes his practice to estate administration, will drafting, election law, real estate transactions and complex estate litigation.
Frank A. Bolz III has been appointed as a referee, conservator, special referee and Guardian ad Litem in Supreme Court and Surrogate’s Court of the County of Queens in numerous contested and uncontested matters.
Frank A. Bolz III was appointed as a Court Examiner for Conservatorship and Guardianship Accountings by the Hon. Guy J. Mangano and later by the Hon. A. Gail Prudenti having served in this capacity from 1992 through 2002. He is admitted to practice in the Appellate Division, Second Department, and in the Eastern and Southern Districts of the Federal Courts.
He has served as an Arbitrator in the Small Claims Divisions of the Civil Court of the City of New York in the County of Queens, and also served as a founding member of the Judicial Advisory Council of Queens County under the Hon. Alfred D. Lerner and the Hon. Stephen P. Fisher. Frank A. Bolz, III graduated cum laude from the Faculty of Law and Jurisprudence of the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1983 and received his Bachelor of Arts in Management, cum laude, from Hofstra University in 1980.
Mr. Bolz is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Queens County and the Queens County Bar Association.
Mr. Bolz is a member of the Surrogate’s Court, Estates and Trusts Committee of the Queens County Bar Association and a member of the Trusts and Estates Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.
In 1992, Frank A. Bolz III was appointed as the Law Chairman of the Queens County Democratic Organization by then County Leader and former Congressman, Thomas J. Manton. Mr. Bolz continues to serve as the Law Chairman for the Queens County Democratic Organization under the Hon. Gregory Meeks.Mr. Meeks is a Member of Congress from the Fifth Congressional District in Queens and Nassau Counties.
Mr. Bolz has successfully litigated over one hundred election law cases at both the trial and appellate level in both State and Federal Courts on behalf of candidates and elected officials. From 1988 to 1998, Mr. Bolz served as Chief-of-Staff for then Assemblyman Joseph Crowley. Mr. Crowley is a former Member of Congress from the Seventh Congressional district in Queens and Bronx Counties, New York. Mr. Bolz served as a Presidential Elector from the State of New York.
