Georgia Kosmakos says this about her work with survivors of sexual abuse:
“I wish each person truly understood what survivors of sexual abuse carry with them each day. It is an understatement to say that is takes tremendous courage and strength for a survivor to come forward with their story. A survivor’s claim does not end with the completion of their case – it is something they continue to carry with them throughout their life. If I can be a vessel to help guide, comfort, advise, and above all else advocate for a survivor – it is my absolute privilege.Institutions will and have historically protected themselves, turning a blind eye to sexual abuse for decades. Each survivor, each claim is an effort to end the neglect and willful disregard of these organizations, to not only compensate victims, but to protect and prevent the next.”
Georgia’s skills include case supervision and administration, courtroom advocacy, case investigation, and adversarial writing.
In addition to her work representing abuse victims, Georgia’s practice area was previously concentrated in Trust and Estate Litigation and Administration. The firm’s unique position as Counsel to the Public Administrator of Queens County avails itself to an array of litigation involving forgery, fraud, and theft. Georgia worked advocating for the deceased, ensuring their assets were properly distributed to their rightful and intended beneficiaries.
